Hi, I'm Tracey, and I'm running to be your next City Councillor for Ward 5.

I believe municipal government should work for you, listening closely, acting transparently, and delivering real results. Over the years, I've dedicated my life to public service, education, and community advocacy across the Kitchener-Waterloo region.

I'm stepping up to run for council because Ward 5 is growing rapidly, and we need an experienced leader who knows how to manage a budget while protecting the everyday affordability and safety of our neighborhoods.

My Blueprint: Financial Discipline Meets Community Care

I bring a unique combination of financial expertise and deep-rooted public service to the table. I believe in a collaborative, practical approach to governance, ensuring our city grows smartly while strictly respecting your hard-earned tax dollars.

Financial Accountability: I hold an MBA with a finance concentration from the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University, alongside a professional Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA) designation. I understand complex balance sheets, and I know how to audit a budget to protect everyday affordability.

Passion for Education: I believe in lifelong learning. Alongside my undergraduate degrees, I hold a Master of Information Studies from the University of Toronto. Today, I share my passion for business as a part-time instructor in accounting and organizational behaviour at the Lazaridis School.

Proven Public Governance: For the past 8+ years, I have served our community as a local School Board Trustee and have held roles as Chair and Vice Chair. In this role, I have fought hard for transparent leadership, student success, and ensuring our educational infrastructure keeps pace with local growth.

A Lifelong Commitment to Volunteering

For more than two decades, I have rolled up my sleeves to support local non-profits, families, and community groups. True leadership means showing up and giving back.

Executive Board Experience: I am a past president and board chair of Our Place Family Resource and Early Years Centre, a past director for the YMCA Kitchener-Waterloo, and an active executive member of Rotary Waterloo.

National Recognition: My dedication to our community — particularly my advocacy work on behalf of children with complex or special needs — was recognized nationally when I was awarded the prestigious Sovereign's Medal for Volunteers by the Governor General of Canada.
