Hi, I'm Tracey, and I'm running to be your next City Councillor for Ward 5.
I believe municipal government should work for you, listening closely, acting transparently, and delivering real results. Over the years, I've dedicated my life to public service, education, and community advocacy across the Kitchener-Waterloo region.
I'm stepping up to run for council because Ward 5 is growing rapidly, and we need an experienced leader who knows how to manage a budget while protecting the everyday affordability and safety of our neighborhoods.
My Blueprint: Financial Discipline Meets Community Care
I bring a unique combination of financial expertise and deep-rooted public service to the table.
Financial Accountability: I hold an MBA with a finance concentration from the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University, alongside a professional Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA) designation.
Passion for Education: I believe in lifelong learning. Alongside my undergraduate degrees, I hold a Master of Information Studies from the University of Toronto.
Proven Public Governance: For the past 8+ years, I have served our community as a local School Board Trustee and have held roles as Chair and Vice Chair.
A Lifelong Commitment to Volunteering
For more than two decades, I have rolled up my sleeves to support local non-profits, families, and community groups.
Executive Board Experience: I am a past president and board chair of Our Place Family Resource and Early Years Centre, a past director for the YMCA Kitchener-Waterloo, and an active executive member of Rotary Waterloo.
National Recognition: My dedication to our community was recognized nationally when I was awarded the prestigious Sovereign's Medal for Volunteers by the Governor General of Canada.

Fiscal Responsibility & Everyday Affordability
I will hold ensure city services and recreation programs stay affordable for every family and senior in Ward 5.
Managed Growth & Housing Choice
Ward 5 is growing fast. I will push for smart growth — diverse housing options like townhomes and starter homes — while ensuring new development invests in green spaces, tree canopy, and neighbourhood character.
Neighbourhood Safety & Traffic Calming
Every resident deserves to feel safe on their street. I will advocate for structural traffic-calming measures, safety upgrades near schools and parks, and expanded GRT transit across the ward.
Community Connection & Recreation
Ward 5 residents shouldn't have to drive downtown for quality public spaces and programs. I will fight for local recreational facilities and empower neighbourhood associations to serve residents.
